We are so excited that one of our Community Business Academy graduates, Jorieka Downey, aka Chef Jo of GRITS CLT, was featured on the latest WBTV Community Conversation about building and maintaining your own business.
Chef Jo, took a leap of faith, left her job, and started her own food business in form of a food truck called GRITS (Girls Raised In The South). Soon after, she found our Community Business Academy which helped her better understand the financial side of the business, frequently used terminology, access the right technology for her business, as well as build a community of like-minded individuals.
“I found ASPIRE. It was kind of Godsend – it’s what I wanted. I needed to learn how to just organize the business how to financially keep my money and see where the profit is coming from.”
The conversation, hosted by WBTV’s Dedrick Russell, also went into details about how the Community Business Academy prepares new and aspiring business owners as they take their idea from a dream to reality.
